KNOXVILLE, Tennessee– Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia spoke at the University of Tennessee college of law on Tuesday and his remarks left some puzzled, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Scalia was asked about the constitutionality of income tax, to which he replied that the government had the right to implement the tax, “but if it reaches a certain point, perhaps you should revolt.”

He also expressed disdain for the concept of an evolving constitution. “The Constitution is not a living organism for Pete’s sake,” Scalia said, according to the report. “It’s a law. It means what it meant when
it was adopted.”
