Student Subculture Students’ society is a unique organization of young people that are united not just according to the program, but also to interests, lifestyle, and others. The students subculture is a country inside another country. It has its own traditions, and an unofficial authorities. It functions in accordance with certain guidelines. The Problem of International Relations There was always a problem of interrelations between international college students and US ones. Some people tend to think that there is no such question as the USA is the country of multiplicity. American people got accustomed to overseas cultures, religions, lifestyles. American students know that they speak the global language. American students are regarded to have a global awareness. They are really open to everything new. And that’s why there is nothing to bother about overseas students. Others believe this problem existed all the time. Its display can be different though the essence is the same. Just imagine that one Asian college student wants to study in a school of the USA. He/she is sure that he/she is aware of US culture properly, speaks English fluently, etc. But when he/she arrives to the United States, he/she realizes that it’s not so easy to absorb with American college students and American lifestyle. He/she comprehends he/she is to reside in special foreign dormitories and mess with students of his/her own nationality. An overseas college student should be entirely involved in the lifestyle of US students. This means that he/she needs to participate in different American activities, participate in all parties that American students organize, to speak English, with other foreign students. It means, if an overseas student desires to be a part of US student subculture, he/she needs to forget his/her own national culture. Yet, lots of international college students blend with American ones easily.
