Czech President embarks on diplomatic mission, expresses solidarity in Israel amidst regional tensions

Czech President Petr Pavel arrived in Tel Aviv for a three-day tour of Israel and Qatar. During his visit to Tel Aviv, he met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and is scheduled to meet with other top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, and War Cabinet member Benny Gantz.
President Pavel expressed support for Israel in its fight against terrorists from the Palestinian movement Hamas, emphasizing Czechia’s view of Israel as both a friend and a strategic partner. He also plans to visit a military base near the Gaza Strip, where he will highlight the issue of hostages abducted by Hamas. Additionally, Pavel is expected to sign a memorandum on cyber cooperation between Israel and Czechia. After his time in Israel, he will visit Qatar, meeting with the Emir of Qatar and Defense Minister, and connecting with compatriots at the Czech Embassy in Doha.
